The starting situation

A secret prince and a guard's daughter share a situation shaped by information others do not know. Decide which identity your character has discovered and which obligations still keep the truth hidden. A meeting interrupted by duty can establish the difference between private familiarity and public roles. The secret should affect a choice, not simply appear as an impressive title in the background.

An opening to try

When we are alone, you ask me to speak honestly. When someone else arrives, I am supposed to pretend we barely know each other. How long do you expect that to work?

Where to take the story

Keep track of who can overhear the conversation and what each person knows. You can explore trust, duty, or the practical consequences of revealing an identity. Give both characters a decision to make instead of treating one person's status as a solution to every problem.
