Memory in character conversations
Our chat models use conversation context to shape their replies. For a long-running story, it still helps to keep the details you care about short, explicit, and easy to restate.

Context is not a complete transcript of everything
A model can lose track of an earlier detail as a conversation grows. A remembered name does not mean it will also retain every date, object, or promise from the same scene.
When a detail changes, say what the correct version is. A direct correction gives the next reply a clearer instruction than repeating the entire story.
Use a compact recap
A useful recap might read: We are in the northern archive. Mira knows the letter is forged. We agreed to find the original before sunrise. My character does not yet know who wrote it.
Separate facts both characters know from information that only you know. This helps avoid a character acting on a secret that has not been revealed.
Check memory access with the model
Our membership options include models with different memory features, including Long Memory and Permanent Memory labels. Check the current model description and account access before switching. A feature name is not a guarantee that every future reply will recall every past message.
Questions
Does PolyBuzz remember every message forever?
No. AI memory has limits. Keep a short summary of story details you do not want to lose.
