Your persona in a character chat
Your persona is the role you bring to a conversation. It is different from the AI character's profile: one describes you in the story, and the other describes the character you are talking to.

Keep the details relevant to the scene
Start with a fictional name, your role, and your relationship to the character. Add a few appearance or background details if they matter to the story.
For example: My name is Rowan. I'm a cartographer assigned to your expedition. We have worked together before, but you do not know why I left the last crew.
Separate your role from the character's instructions
Do not use a persona to rewrite every trait of the other character. Put the character's behavior and background in their creation profile when you are the creator. Use your own persona to describe the part you want to play.
When you begin a new scenario, check that the selected persona still fits it. You can also state the relevant role directly in your opening message.
Use fictional details
A persona does not need your real address, workplace, phone number, or financial details. Review any visibility control before saving or sharing profile information. A character profile, an account profile, and a chat are separate surfaces.
